The timing belt is also called a cam belt or toothed belt. It is the connection between the crankshaft and camshaft. The timing belt keeps correct timing between these two shafts. This timing is critical because if it is lost (due to cam belt or bearing failure) the pistons will hit the valves resulting in expensive damage to the engine. This is why the vehicle manufacturer issues guidance for replacement intervals. Even if your motorhome has low mileage the rubber that the belt is made of will deteriorate.
Use the form above to receive a quote for the cost to replace your cambelt and guidance as to when it is due for renewal.
Timing belts are normally replaced as a kit which includes the belt, tensioner, idler and any stretch bolts or studs that may need replacing. Often the water pump is driven by the cambelt so that if the water pump bearing ever failed it would cause the timing belt to also fail therefore causing serious damage to the engine. It is for this reason I often recommend replacing the water pump along with the timing belt kit.
All parts used are of high quality OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts. Manufacturers dont make their own timing belts, other companies like INA, Dayco or Gates make them.
All work is done on a mobile basis. I bring my fully equiped mobile workshop to your home or place of work. No hassle of dropping your car off at the garage and having to find a lift back, allowing you to work from home or relax with a coffee.
If its raining, thats not a problem. I have a heavy duty gazeebo I carry with me.
As a mobile mechanic my work is focused around the Cannock area due to the nature of the job. For caravan and motorhome habitation servicing work I travel further.
NOTE:- I now have a workshop so if you prefer to have your motorhome repaired in a workshop then I can facilitate that.
