Caravan tyres

Writer's picture: Kieron GrimleyKieron Grimley

During a caravan service I check the tyres for age, maximum load, maximum pressure, age cracks, punctures, damage to sidewall or tread, uneven wear, valve stem condition, correct pressure, correct fitment, correct direction, correct size, tread depth and wheel condition. This tyre was flagged as not being fitted in accordance with the sidewall instructions. It was fitted inside out. There are several reasons why this tyre fitted inside out could affect caravan stability (that would be a chapter in itself). I have inspected thousands of tyres and get a good feel for what may be wrong. Having a caravan service will minimise problems while on holiday (when we are all set free 🤪), maintain your warranty and may keep your insurance valid.
